Indie actor Kristoffer King passes away

<p>Kristoffer King, an actor who starred in several acclaimed movies by director Brillante Mendoza, has died, his guardian and close friends said Saturday.</p><p>The actor&#x27;s death was confirmed by his guardian, Sunny King. &quot;It is with deep sadness that I share with you, our actor and friend, Kristoffer King has passed away at 8:45 p.m. today,&quot; Sunny said. &quot;May he rest in peace.&quot;</p><p>King, whose real name is Christopher Reyes, was best known for his films with Mendoza. Their professional association began in 2005 with &quot;Masahista,&quot; and was followed by &quot;Foster Child&quot; and &quot;Tirador.&quot;</p><p>He reunited with Mendoza and Coco Martin (who also starred in &quot;Tirador&quot;) for 2008&#x27;s &quot;Serbis,&quot; the first Filipino movie to compete in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival since 1984.</p><p>He again worked with the two in 2012&#x27;s &quot;Captive.&quot;</p><p>Mendoza led the tributes for King, calling him his &quot;best actor.&quot;</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2667868376564386&amp;set=a.610336088984302&amp;type=3&amp;theater" data-width="auto"> </div><p>King also had roles in Mendoza&#x27;s &quot;Ma&#x27; Rosa,&quot; and in Martin&#x27;s &quot;Ang Probinsyano&quot; in 2016.</p><p>The cause of his death was not immediately clear.</p>
