MANILA - Balladeer and hitmaker Nonoy Zuñiga is bringing down the curtain on rumors surrounding his marriage with wife Grace Maroket.

Zuñiga, whose singing career spans more than three decades, has found himself at the center of a "blind item" claiming that his relationship with Maroket has hit a rough patch, and that the two are considering a split.

In an interview with radio dzMM's Ahwel Paz on Wednesday, the singer clarified the decision to fly his five children to the US to live with their mother despite having shows here in the Philippines.

"Iyong mga bata gustong-gusto mag-aral doon kaya doon muna sila. Ako naman ay pabalik-balik dahil I have shows here, although may shows din ako sa States," said Zuñiga, who recently held a Valentine's Day concert in Cebu.

He also denied considering a divorce, but admitted to having problems with Maroket. "Kasama iyon pero I would consider it as a normal problem ng mga couples," he explained.

"Siyempre, hindi naman kayo laging masaya. Mayroon mga times na may problema, talagang ganoon. Pag nandito kami, marami kasing nangyayari na nakakagrabe lang ng problema. So I took them out, lumayo kami para maayos," he added.

Asked about the involvement of a possible third party, Zuñiga replied: "Chismis. I have to prove it para malaman ang totoo."
