It has been a while since people have seen former child star LA Lopez.

So understandably, expectations were high when MYX Philippines uploaded out of the blue a video of him singing one of his songs, "Yakap," telling fans that "this is him now."

And judging from the comments, some people were a bit disappointed. The Facebook video, which has more than half a million views after a day, was flooded with reviews of his singing.

But that's not to say that all comments were giving him two thumbs down. Some fans were praising Lopez for capturing the emotion of the slow, romantic tune.

Lopez, who became a pastor during his break from showbiz, made his appearance on MYX Philippines as part of a recent push promoting a song he released back in 2016 with Star Records, "I See You."
