MANILA -- “I can’t help but miss Ellie.”

This was what Andi Eigenmann wrote as she shared that the quarantine imposed on Metro Manila — as of Monday, it was "enhanced" to cover the whole of Luzon — over the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), which has restricted travel to and from the area, has kept her from being able to pick up her daughter.

Ellie is currently with Jake Ejercito, Eigenmann’s ex-boyfriend and also the father of Ellie. Two weeks ago, Ejercito shared a photo of him bonding with Ellie at an arcade.

This past Sunday on Instagram, Eigenmann, who is now based in Siargao with her partner, surfer Philmar Alipayo, said that she is trying to stay “positive” during this anxious and stressful time, but that she could not help but miss Ellie.

“I know for sure she is safe with her dad, but I am craving for the day I get to pick her up and come back to the island with her again,” she wrote.

“Things are just not the same without Ellie here. Her positive spirit and our daily video calling has been keeping me going, soon, I can hold her in my arms again.”

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Eigenmann revealed that everything is now okay between him and Ejercito when it comes to their daughter.

Eigenmann stressed that as a mother, she’s only after the best interest of her child.

In 2017, Ejercito filed for joint custody of his daughter. Ejercito said at the time that it would be much easier for him and Eigenmann to co-parent because they will have a fixed schedule for Ellie.
