<p>MANILA - Actor John Lloyd Cruz was surprised when his newest leading lady, Jennylyn Mercado, said that they worked together over a decade ago.</p><p>Mercado, who stars in the upcoming romantic film &quot;Just the 3 of Us&quot; with Cruz, revealed that she had a scene with the actor in the ABS-CBN series &quot;Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay&quot; aired from 2002 to 2003.</p><p>This was way before Mercado joined and won the talent competition Starstruck, which catapulted her to fame.</p><p>&quot;Ikaw ang kaeksena ko, hindi mo maalala?&quot; Mercado told Cruz, who was visibly surprised.</p><p>Mercado recalled that she worked as an extra during the show: &quot;Kasi, nag-extra ako dati. Tinawagan ako ng manager ko, [sabi niya] baka pwede kang mag-extra sa soap nila Bea (Alonzo), &#x27;yung Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay.&#x27; Eh wala akong alam, hindi talaga ako umaarte, wala akong alam. Tapos [sabi ko] sige, subukan ko lang.&quot;</p><p>&quot;May kissing scene pa nga tayo doon,&quot; she reminded Cruz.</p><p>Cruz, who obviously forgot about his first encounter with Mercado, explained: &quot;Grabe, ang hirap doon sa show na &#x27;yon. Parang every taping day pang-MMK (drama) ang ginagawa ko. Masyadong intense &#x27;yung show.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Hahanapin ko &#x27;yon sa iWant TV,&quot; he assured the actress.</p><p>Mercado then quipped: &quot;Oo, iba pa itsura ko noon, mahaba na maitim ang buhok. Tapos medyo morena ako.
