De Lima wants Dawn Zulueta to portray her in biopic

MANILA - Former justice secretary and senatorial candidate Leila De Lima said she wants actress Dawn Zulueta to portray her in a hypothetical biographical film on her life as a government official.

In an interview with reporters on Tuesday, De Lima mused on the possibility of a film being made about her life, suggesting that it should be titled, "The Lady Justice."

"That's the story of my life, you know, 'yung mga nangri-raid, 'yung lumalaban para sa katarungan," she said. "Gusto kong mag-focus [ang film] sa nagawa ko, 'yung paglaki ko, and then 'yung nagawa ko. Paano ako pinalaki ng parents ko, at paano ako nagtrabaho sa mga ibinigay sa aking trabaho."

Zulueta, who is married to politician Anton Lagmadeo, has yet to express support for any candidate in the upcoming elections. In an interview back in September, she said that she will refrain from endorsing one of the five presidential candidates.

"Pero hindi niyo siguro maaasahan sa akin ang makapag-endorso ng presidentiables kasi, like I said, lahat sila ay kaibigan natin," Zulueta, at the time, said.

Meanwhile, De Lima shared her excitement over the results of the most recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey. In the March 20 to April 2 poll commissioned by BusinessWorld, De Lima was part of the top 12 senators.

In the same interview, De Lima also praised actor and "Game ng Bayan" host Robin Padilla for donating more than 200 sacks of rice to the drought-hit farmers of Kidapawan City, Cotabato province early this month.

"Well, kaya ako isa sa [may] mga gusto si Robin Padilla, kaya crush ko iyan kasi very strong ang appeal niya. Ma-appeal na ma-appeal talaga," she gushed.
