‘Eerie,’ ‘Miss Granny’ competing in Far East Film Festival in Italy

Roño’s “Signal Rock.”The restored “Nunal sa Tubig” by Ishmael Bernal, meanwhile, will make its world premiere as part of the restored classics section of the festival.“We are always glad that we could be of assistance to our very own filmmakers who made it to international film festivals to represent Philippine cinema,” FDCP chairperson Liza Diño said.Noting that the Philippines was the Country of Focus in the 2018 edition of the Far East Film Festival, she added, “We are pleased that the festival continues to showcase different voices from around the world by including Filipino films in their lineup this year.”According to FDCP, two Philippine film projects — Red’s “The Grandstand” and Phyllis Grae Grande’s “Everybody Leaves” — are poised for co-production and co-financing in Europe and Asia. The two titles were among the 15 selected for the opportunity by Focus Asia as part of the festival’s All Genres Project Market.
