If fans were taking John Lloyd Cruz's new ad as a sign that he'll be returning to acting soon, particularly in the weekend sitcom, "Home Sweetie Home," then those hopes appeared to have been dashed this Saturday.

To start off its latest episode, the show teased fans by showing past clips from back when Cruz was still part of it. It served as a recap of his character's love story with Julie (Toni Gonzaga).

It ended with Julie reading a letter he received from Romeo, Cruz's character, who told her that there's absolutely no chance he'll be returning to the country and that they'll get back together.

"Nagkamali ako at nasa point na siya na hindi ko matatama," he wrote. "You deserve to be happy kahit hindi na sa piling ko."

He also mailed the annulment papers, putting a firm end to their relationship. In response, Julie burned all of Romeo's stuff but a mishap set her house on fire.

Cue a blooper reel and a cheery teaser for the revamped version of the show, titled "Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet," which will begin airing next week.

The names that have been added include Vhong Navarro and Alex Gonzaga, along with the likes of "Pinoy Big Brother: Otso" adult finalists Fumiya Sankai and Yamyam Gucong.

There was no mention of Cruz, who exited the show to focus on his personal life with girlfriend, actress Ellen Adarna.
