Kim Chiu grateful for Xian Lim amid bashing: 'Para siyang sponge'

MANILA – For a while now, Kim Chiu has been the target of ridicule on social media over her confusing statements recently, and she’s grateful to have a very good support system despite it all.

In an interview with Ruffa Gutierrez for the new episode of “Love Thy Chika” on Sunday, Chiu shared that among the people who consistently got her back is her boyfriend, Xian Lim.

“Parang yun na yata ang pinakamarami kong tawag sa kanya. Para siyang sponge. Kapag may problema ako, nalilipat sa kanya, tapos siya yung nagkaka-anxiety,” she said.

Chiu said it greatly helps that she and Lim constantly keep in touch during this lockdown period.

“Buti na lang lagi ko siyang kausap, lagi kaming magkakuwentuhan. Ina-advise niya rin ako kasi siya din, binash din siya dati ng mga tao,” she said.

Chiu said she’s learned to look for the silver lining in every unfortunate event because of everything that ensued.

“At the end of the day, tinitingnan ko na lang yung brighter side. Maraming views [yung mga bashers kong gumagawa ng videos] so kumikita sila because of me,” she said.

Chiu said she is also grateful because she’s managed to turn things around and make something productive out of all the bashing she’s received.

“Ang daming nag-a-unfold na opportunities because this bawal lumabas bashing turned into something bright and sunny. Nalungkot lang ako because people are really putting you down. Sa dami ng sinabi na one hour and 30 minutes na kuda namin doon sa live video na yun, isang mali lang, bobo ka na in your entire life. Parang, uy sandali lang, ikaw din naman, nagkakamali ka,” she said.

When asked what’s her biggest takeaway from all that’s happened, Chiu said: “Meron talagang rainbow na nakasilip. Meron mang bagyo na dumaan, dadaan lang yun. I’m happy na I’ve learned something from this experience. People can be mean but nasa iyo yun kung magpapaapekto ka.”
