<figure class="op-social"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/l_7yOhJuUGs?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0" width="510"></iframe></figure><p>MANILA - A seven-year-old kid from Olongapo City made a slight blunder on Saturday&#x27;s episode of &quot;The Voice Kids&quot; when he picked a coach of the singing competition who did not turn his chair for him. </p><p>Matthew Joshua Esconde surprised many when he snubbed Broadway icon Lea Salonga and megastar Sharon Cuneta, who had been bickering over him, and opted for Filipino rock icon Bamboo Mañalac as his mentor.</p><p>&quot;Thank you very much for picking me but Matthew, I&#x27;m sorry. Hindi ako naka-ikot para sa iyo. Hindi ako umikot kasi masaya ako na umikot na silang dalawa,&quot; Mañalac told Esconde afterwards. </p><p>Esconde eventually went with Salonga, who praised him for his highly-energetic cover of One Direction&#x27;s &quot;What Makes You Beautiful.&quot; </p><p>&quot;Intro pa lang ay nakuha na ako noong kanta,&quot; admitted Salonga. &quot;I was able to enjoy iyong buong performance mo na lahat ng audience, ang saya-saya lang nila. Magaling ka mag-perform.&quot; </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2016/entertainment2/06/04/voice-060416.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">Matthew Esconde electrified the judges and the crowd with his cover of a One Direction hit. <em>The Voice Kids Philippines</em></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>He joined Cabanatuan native Natalie Zarena Martinez, who also picked Salonga. With the addition of the two, the Tony-winner&#x27;s team now has six members --the most of any coach so far. </p><p>Meanwhile, Mañalac and Cuneta added one recruit each to their teams by the end of the episode. Ten-year-old Yohance Buie picked Mañalac, while Justin John Alva of Lucena City joined Cuneta. </p><p>&quot;The Voice Kids,&quot; which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, and Kim Chiu, airs Saturdays after &quot;Home Sweetie Home&quot; and on Sundays after &quot;Wansapanataym.&quot; </p>
