Liza Soberano breaks silence over 'Make it With You' cancellation

<p>MANILA — Liza Soberano has finally broken her silence after it was announced last week that her ABS-CBN series with Enrique Gil will no longer be returning to television.</p><p>On Instagram, Soberano penned a message for all the avid viewers of “Make It With You” as she confirmed that they won’t be coming back on air.</p><p>“Thank you so much for embarking on the journey of Billie and Gabo,” she said. “I know a lot of you are upset and looking for answers and the only explanation I can give you is genuine fear of the virus.” </p><blockquote class="instagram-media" Considering that the COVID-19 situation here in the Philippines is far from contained, there are many risks in place for me (and everyone involved) given my history of having a weak immune system,” she added.</p><p>After consulting with her family, managers and the “Make It With You” team, Soberano said they all came to an agreement that it might be for the best not to continue with the show anymore.</p><p>The actress then apologized to their audience for they will not be able to them the ending they deserve.</p><p>“Thank you and looking forward to our next adventure,” she ended.</p><p>&quot;Make It With You,&quot; Soberano and Gil’s fourth series together, was among the ABS-CBN programs that halted production in mid-March amid the coronavirus pandemic. Its return was further held off with the government shutdown of ABS-CBN&#x27;s broadcast operations in May.</p><p>Last Thursday, a number of scripted ABS-CBN dramas were announced to resume through the new Kapamilya Channel on cable and satellite TV. &quot;Make It With You&quot; was not among them.</p><p>Produced by Star Creatives, &quot;Make It With You&quot; premiered in January 2020, and was the consistent No. 1 program in its time slot, according to Kantar Media. Among scripted dramas, it was only second to the phenomenal &quot;FPJ&#x27;s Ang Probinsyano&quot; in nationwide ratings.</p><p>During the coronavirus quarantine, and amid the broadcast closure of ABS-CBN, Soberano and Gil have nonetheless been visible to fans, notably as guest stars in OKS (Online Kapamilya Shows).</p>
