Naredo (@camillenaredo) <a href="https://twitter.com/camillenaredo/status/890493375157227524">July 27, 2017</a></blockquote><script async="" src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charSet="utf-8" type="text/javascript"></script>SINGAPORE – (UPDATED) Fresh off signing a landmark deal with Jay-Z&#x27;s Roc Nation label, Korean-American hip-hop sensation Jay Park made waves anew when it was announced Thursday that he is the newest judge of &quot;Asia&#x27;s Got Talent.&quot;The 30-year-old Park last week became the first Asian-American to join Roc Nation, and on Thursday at the ArtScience Museum at the Marina Bay Sands, he formally joined music icon David Foster and Indonesian superstar Anggun as judges for the second season of &quot;Asia&#x27;s Got Talent,&quot; which will be presented by Traveloka.Both Anggun and Foster are reprising their roles as judges of the show. The Filipino shadow play group &quot;El Gamma Penumbra&quot; won the maiden season of the competition back in 2015.After their very successful first season, Foster makes it clear that this time around, expectations are &quot;way higher.&quot;&quot;I mean, the show was great, and it was a great first season,&quot; said the 16-time Grammy Award winner. &quot;But we have to step it up now. I would love for us to find an international star.&quot;A producer who has worked with some of the biggest stars in the music industry, Foster stressed that while he would be delighted if a &quot;magic act&quot; triumphed in Season 2, his true goal remains the same – to find the next Whitney Houston.&quot;That&#x27;s what I&#x27;m really looking for,&quot; he said. &quot;And I think Asia has that. I think she is out there somewhere, I really do.&quot;Anggun, for her part, is looking for an act that is &quot;beautiful and touching&quot; – much like how El Gamma Penumbra amazed her enough to earn the coveted &quot;golden buzzer&quot; in the first season.&quot;That kind of act is universal,&quot; said Anggun of El Gamma Penumbra. &quot;It&#x27;s really the kind of act that doesn&#x27;t need a language… so for me, that kind of act is perfect.&quot;&quot;And I think, if I could find something in the same range of emotional level, I think people all over the world are waiting for that. They&#x27;re waiting to be touched,&quot; she explained. &quot;This is entertainment, and I think we&#x27;ve seen and we&#x27;ve heard a lot of things.&quot;&quot;But not many things touch us.&quot;Park, the youngest and newest member of the panel, is simply looking forward to witnessing the variety of talents that contestants will show them, aside from dancing and singing. &quot;It&#x27;s a range of different talents, in terms of comedic acts or comedians, or whatever it may be. So I was just excited that I could witness that firsthand,&quot; he said.Anggun anticipates that Park will bring a fresh, exciting vibe to the judges&#x27; panel, while Foster jokingly said that he could not wait to argue with the younger artist. Park himself says he is still trying to determine exactly what kind of judge he is going to be.&quot;I&#x27;ve never judged talent,&quot; said Park, though he has previously judged rapping or dancing contests. &quot;So I&#x27;m going to have to see what kind of judge I am.&quot;&quot;I don&#x27;t think I&#x27;m going to be that easy though, because my standards are pretty high,&quot; he warned.Meanwhile, Alan Wong and Justin Bratton were also announced as the new hosts of Asia&#x27;s Got Talent, replacing Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez.Traveloka, the leading Online Travel Agent in Southeast Asia, serves as this season&#x27;s presenting sponsor and will also give out the &quot;Traveloka Awards.&quot; During the first five episodes of the season, two acts will be highlighted for their inspirational stories.At the end of the fifth episode, the audience will vote for the most inspiring act, who will then receive a major prize from Traveloka.Season 2 of Asia&#x27;s Got Talent premiers on AXN in October and will run for ten episodes: five judges&#x27; auditions, three semi-finals, the finale, and the results show. The winner will receive a $100,000 prize from Traveloka.
