He found out a little too late that his grandfather always told their neighbors of the awards he won, and the TV and movie roles he got. </p><p>&quot;Nagising na lang ako, wala na siya. Late na ang lahat,&quot; Bables said, sharing that the biggest lesson he learned was: &quot;Hangga&#x27;t nandiyan iyong tao, you make the most out of your time.&quot;</p><p>Bables&#x27; grandfather <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/05/19/18/christian-bables-mourns-grandfathers-death-i-am-deeply-pained">died in May</a> after falling into a coma. Bables said that he was &quot;deeply pained&quot; by the passing, and that the &quot;most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said.&quot; </p><p>He was on the late-night talk to show to promote his movie, &quot;Signal Rock,&quot; which is part of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino this month. He also mentioned his role in &quot;Halik,&quot; an upcoming teleserye. </p>
