Veteran actor Ian Veneracion and teen actress Julia Barretto won hearts on Monday night with their realistic portrayal of a worried father and a troubled daughter on "A Love To Last."

Veneracion, who portrays Anton, a divorcee and a father of three, was having trouble imposing discipline on her teenage daughter Chloe (Barretto).

Anton became angry when he found out about Chloe's secret boyfriend. The heated confrontation between the two resulted in Chloe's decision to leave Anton's house and live with her mother, Grace (Iza Calzado).

Although he disapproves of Chloe's decision, Anton couldn't do anything but watch his daughter pack her bags and leave the door with her mom. He was too ashamed to even say sorry for overreacting.

As soon as Chloe and Grace left, Anton took refuge by talking to his new wife, Andeng (Bea Alonzo). "Masama ba akong ama? Bakit ayaw sa akin ng mga anak ko?" asked Anton, as tears began forming in his eyes.

"This will only make you a better father. At siya rin. Mas magiging mabuting anak siya sa 'yo pagkatapos ng lahat ng 'to," Andeng replied.

Anton will have to wait for his daughter to forgive him. But first, he needs to forgive himself for thinking he is not good enough for his children.

Many netizens lauded the tear-jerking performance of Veneracion and Barretto. Some even recalled their personal experiences with their dads.
