37th Luna Awards: Daniel Padilla wins best actor for 'The Hows of Us'

He won best actor for his role in the movie. <em>Star Cinema</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA - Daniel Padilla won the best actor award at the 37th Luna Awards for his role as a frustrated musician alongside his love team partner Kathryn Bernardo in &quot;The Hows of Us.&quot; </p><p>The young actor defeated a strong field, including the late great Eddie Garcia (Rainbow&#x27;s Sunset), Dingdong Dantes (&quot;Sid &amp; Aya&quot;), and Christian Bables (&quot;Signal Rock&quot;). </p><p>&quot;The Hows of Us&quot; centers on the sweet romantic relationship of the two leads, including Padilla&#x27;s Primo, that steadily became toxic. It became the country&#x27;s highest grossing Filipino film at one point last year, before being overtaken by &quot;Hello, Love, Goodbye.&quot; </p><p>It was directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, and was billed as possibly one of the blockbuster director&#x27;s final films. </p><p>The other big winners of the 37th Luna Awards were Chito S. Roño. who was named best director for &quot;Signal Rock,&quot; and Glaiza de Castro, who bagged best actress for &quot;Liway.&quot; </p><p>The awards night, by the Film Academy of the Philippines, was held at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater in Taguig this Saturday.
