Heroes of Philanthropy list, which was released Monday.</p><p>For this year, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/gracechung/2019/12/02/asias-2019-heroes-of-philanthropy-catalysts-for-change/">Forbes</a> recognized 30 notable philanthropists &quot;committed to solving some of the most pressing issues facing the Asia-Pacific.&quot;</p><p>The Kapamilya actress, who is active in doing charity work, was recognized for her efforts in giving out aid to the victims of violence and natural disasters.</p><p>Forbes noted that after <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/11/01/19/angel-locsin-spotted-in-davao-city-buying-relief-goods-for-quake-victims">earthquakes hit Mindanao</a> in October, Locsin donated P1 million and distributed &quot;truckloads of relief supplies to affected residents.&quot; </p><p>It also pointed out that during the 2017 battle between the military and Islamist rebels in <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/06/09/17/real-life-superhero-angel-locsin-helps-marawi-evacuees">Marawi</a>, she joined the Rural Missionaries of the Philippines, &quot;donating and distributing food packets and school supplies to tens of thousands of displaced victims.&quot;</p><p>In September, she directly donated the money she would&#x27;ve used to buy a gown for the annual ABS-CBN Ball to <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/09/14/19/why-angel-locsin-skipped-abs-cbn-ball">Bantay Bata</a>.</p><p>&quot;Over the past decade, Locsin has donated as much as P15 million to causes such as educational scholarships for students, supporting the economic and political rights of indigenous people, and ending violence against women and children,&quot; Forbes said, noting that she also inspired many of her millions of social media followers to give back. </p><p>“It’s like taking little steps towards substantive, holistic change for the future of the next generations,” the magazine quoted Locsin as saying. “The only motivation we need is being part of humanity.”</p><p>Aside from Locsin, also part of the 13th annual Heroes of Philanthropy list are Filipino businessman Hans Sy, Indian business tycoon Azim Premji, Australian billionaire Judith Neilson and Chinese tycoon Jack Ma.</p>
