<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/12/05/20181207-magic-temple.jpg"/><figcaption>A poster promoting the digitally remastered version of &quot;Magic Temple,&quot; released in 2016. <em>ABS-CBN Films</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>SINGAPORE—A new &quot;Magic Temple&quot; film is in the works, more than two decades since the iconic fantasy adventure premiered in 1996.</p><p>ABS-CBN Films is developing the project with Singapore-based production company Cre8 Productions, one of the first fruits of the deal the two companies <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/12/06/18/abs-cbn-films-singapores-cre8-productions-to-collaborate-on-5-more-films-after-eerie">signed earlier this week</a>.</p><p>Mikhail Red (&quot;Birdshot) is directing the new movie.</p><p>The plan is for it to act as the first of a series, allowing fans to see the characters grow similar to those in the &quot;Harry Potter&quot; and &quot;Lord of the Rings&quot; franchises.</p><p>Other details are thin on the ground, including whether or not any of the movie&#x27;s original stars will take part. An initial cast list, along with a targeted premiere date, was not revealed.</p><p>&quot;Magic Temple&quot; was first released in 1996. It was part of that year&#x27;s Metro Manila Film Festival, where it was named Best Picture.
