LOOK: Charo Santos, Daniel Padilla to star in new movie about Yolanda aftermath

<p>MANILA -- Charo Santos and Daniel Padilla are set to headline a new movie about the devastating aftermath of typhoon Yolanda, &quot;Whether the Weather is Fine.&quot; </p><p>A behind-the-scenes look at the movie was released Thursday by Dreamscape, one of the producers of the movie alongside iWant, Quantum Films, Black Sheep, and Globe Studios. </p><p>Its international partners include studios from France, Singapore, Indonesia, and Germany. </p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/DreamscapePH/posts/2109911209112195" data-width="auto"> </div><p>&quot;Whether the Weather is Fine&quot; will be directed by Carlo Francisco Manatad, whose short film, &quot;Jodilerks Dela Cruz, Employee of the Month,&quot; competed in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2017. </p><p>Manatad was born in Tacloban, one of the hardest-hit areas by Yolanda back in 2013. </p><p>The film will also star newbie actress Francinne Rifol, also known as Rans from all-Pinay girl group MNL48. </p><p>The official synopsis for it reads: &quot;Against the backdrop of the typhoon Yolanda, a mother (Santos) and her son (Padilla) struggle for survival and deal with absurdity of fate, sustained by the hope that they carry, and what is lost and gained.&quot;</p><p>A release date for the new movie was not announced. </p>
