Filipina drag queen Karna Ford joins 'Drag Race Down Under' S4

A Filipina queen will finally be joining the hit reality TV series "Drag Race Down Under," a franchise showcasing talents from Australia and New Zealand.

In the "Meet The Queens" video, Karna Ford was introduced as part of the franchise’s fourth season.

She is the first queen of Filipino descent to join the said franchise.

"I'm so excited to represent for my culture and show the world that Filipino drag is the f*****g one," Karna said.

New episodes of "Drag Race Down Under" will air starting November 1.

In the country, Precious Paula Nicole, Captivating Katkat, and Maxie are the titleholders of "Drag Race Philippines," winning in 2022, 2023, and 2024, respectively.

The Emmy Award-winning original series has featured the talents of Filipino drag queens in the US and several overseas in editions through the years.

The queens who joined the US franchise are Ongina (Season 1 and All Stars 5), Manila Luzon (Season 3 and All Stars 1 and 4), Phi Phi O’Hara (Season 4 and All Stars 2), Jiggly Caliente (Season 4 and All Stars 6), Vivienne Pinay (Season 5), Rock M. Sakura (Season 12), Aura Mayari, and Anetra (Season 15).

Filipina drag queens also joined international franchises with Kyne (Season 1), Stephanie Prince (Season 2), Kimmy Couture (Season 3), Kiki Coe, and Melinda Verga (Season 4) in the Canadian franchise, Jaja (Season 1), Mocha Diva (Season 2), and Gigi Ferocious, who is currently competing in Season 3 for the Thai franchise, along with Saki Yew and Zahirah Zapanta, who are competing in the UK franchise’s sixth season.
