Jaehwa Bernardo, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA — Filipino fans of Kim Myung-soo have something to crow about, as the South Korean singer-actor, better known as L of the popular K-pop boy band Infinite, has shared plans to visit the country more frequently. </div>This development comes after Myung-soo signed Tuesday with Universal Records Philippines and GLXY Entertainment to manage his promotional activities locally.“With this opportunity, I’ll definitely be returning to the Philippines more often,” the 32-year-old artist said through an interpreter at a press conference during his contract signing.Myung-soo will be in the country until Thursday, Nov. 14, for a series of media activities, including magazine photoshoots. But fans can expect that he will be returning soon.“I’ll be showing different activities so I hope you continue to look out for that,” he said.Kathleen Dy-Go, managing director of Universal Records Philippines, hinted that Myung-soo plans to record new music and is hoping to pursue acting projects in the country.“Since everyone knows that Kim Myung-soo came from a K-pop idol group, Infinite, and he’s also doing a solo career, definitely we’ll be coming up with songs, probably [for] next year,” she said.“We are also looking out for drama series and movies. Of course, hopefully, endorsements,” she added.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1731399010182MYUNGSOO2.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div>Myung-soo explained that his decision to strengthen his presence in the Philippines came after experiencing the local fans&#x27; passionate support during his fan meeting last August.“During our last fan meeting we received a lot of love, support and energy. To give back to the love we received last time, in the process, we were able to sign [with local companies],” he said.“As much as possible, we just want to give back all that love, support and energy we received from the fans in the Philippines.”<div>Learning Filipino</div>Being more active in the country will require Myung-soo to familiarize himself with the local language. But he said he plans to improve his Filipino skills as needed for his projects.“Right now I’ve been receiving different proposals. We’ll be making preparations to study [the local language] depending on those projects,” he said.When asked which local artist he would like to collaborate with, Myung-soo responded: “I would first like to show what I have before collaborating with others.”“If there will be proposals [for collaborations], I’d be happy to review them and collaborate with them,” he said.Myung-soo debuted in 2010 as a member of Infinite, known for hit songs such as “BTD (Before the Dawn),” “Be Mine” and “The Chaser.” The six-member group is set to embark on a tour across Asia to celebrate their 15th anniversary starting December. He has also launched a solo music career, releasing the extended play “24/7” in August.Outside of music, Myung-soo is also an actor, starring in dramas such as “The Emperor: Owner of the Mask,” “Ms. Hammurabi,” “Royal Secret Agent,” and “Numbers.”<div>For more news and features on K-pop, K-drama, and K-stars, visit the <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/kcontents">Hallyu Corner</a> microsite.</div>
