LOS ANGELES -- Ever since the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) began in Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theater last Monday, one of the most visible and joyful actors has been Christian Bables.

The award-winning actor who’s had roles in Kapamilya series such as "Dirty Linen," "Darna," and "Drag You and Me," has been out and about meeting with fans in between screenings.

Among the festival’s 10 movies is Bables’ “Broken Hearts Trip,” a film that centers around an LGBT-themed game show.

"Having Filipino movies here in Hollywood is such a huge privilege, such a huge honor, kasi malaking bagay for Filipino artists and Filipino movies dahil may presentation 'to, we get to represent our country here in Hollywood," Bables said.

Bables admitted this is his first time to be in Los Angeles, and the bright lights of Hollywood has given him plenty of inspiration.

"Yung Walk of Fame tinitignan ko siya after the event, so gabi na. Masaya siya and dami kong nakikitang mga Hollywood actors sa sahig, nakakatuwa, nakaka-inspire. Sana some day mas marami pang pelikulang Pilipino na ipalabas dito sa Hollywood," Bables said.

While the young rising star enjoys his brief stay in Hollywood, where he’ll continue attending the festival events for the rest of this week, he said he is excited to return home where he has several projects lined up.
