Jason Dy to release new dance-pop single

MANILA -- Singer Jason Dy is gearing up to drop his latest dance-pop single, "Magsabi Ka Lang," on Friday, March 1. 

Dy said that he composed the track alongside his previous hits "Gusto Ko Pa" and "Ulit-Ulit" released in 2020 and last year, respectively.

"'Magsabi Ka Lang'" is part series of songs that I’ve written many years ago na. Basically the concept was going through different stages of grief pero hindi about death. The death of a relationship. Pinagdadaanan ng tao emotionally pag things starting to get bad na sa relationship," he explained in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Dy also shared insights into his songwriting process, mentioning that he draws inspiration from personal experiences as well as the experiences of his friends. 

“Hindi naman siya super specific to my personal relationships. I get inspiration from anywhere - stories of my friends, napapanood ko sa TV, I get inspirations from everywhere tapos pinagsasama sama ko,” he said.

As Dy approaches his 10th anniversary in the music industry next year, he reflected on the significant milestones and lessons he learned since winning The Voice Philippines Season 2. “Its crazy 'coz it feels like it just happened yesterday, and its been ages ago yung pagkapanalo ko sa The Voice. But I'm still very thankful na I'm still able to do what I do and ito pa din ginagawa ko. Siguro learnings just enjoy what you do, love what you do and continue improving be nice to people be kind to people,” he said.

Dy recently joined the reality singing competition "Tawag ng Tanghalan" as a hurado. He considers this role a full circle moment in his career, having participated and won a reality singing competition previously.
