Jim Lo Scalzo, EPA-EFE/File.American pop superstar Ariana Grande has asked fans to not send hateful comments to "people in her life" after the release of her latest album.

In an Instagram story, Grande said that sending hateful comments is a "misinterpretation of her album "eternal sunshine" released on Friday.

"(Hi,) I just wanted to say that anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage (and is also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music)," the artist said in the caption.

While “eternal sunshine” revolves around some painful moments in her life, Grande said that the album is made out of love.

“I ask that you please do not. it is not how to support me. it is the opposite. Although this album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a through line of deep, sincere love. If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely. Thank you,” she said.

Grande's seventh studio was album released in the Philippines at 1 p.m. and immediately the hashtags #eternalsunshine and Ariana Grande took the top spots on the Philippine trends on X, formerly Twitter, with nearly 300,000 tweets.

Many fans observed Grande's reference to her past relationship with real estate agent Dalton Gomez.

Grande and Gomez started dating in 2020 and got married in 2021 at the singer’s home in Montecito in Southern California.

Several American media outlets earlier said Grande was the one who filed for divorce 2 months after their initial separation was first reported.

Citing a source, People magazine said the split was “kind and patient” and they have both “moved on.”

Following her split with Gomez, Grande was linked to her fellow "Wicked" star Ethan Slater.
