MANILA -- Actor Miggy Jimenez explained why he is not afraid of being typecast in doing LGBTQIA+ roles.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News at Star Magic Spotlight, Jimenez said that he is just portraying a character needed in the story.

Prior to playing Poch in the recently concluded series "Senior High," Jimenez also did "Game Boy."

"It was well-explained to me because basically, not looking into any gender, basically it's the character. So kahit anong anggulo pa 'yan, walang mali diyan. So kung ipo-portray mo 'yan, nasa isip na lang ng tao 'yan kung paano nila titingnan. With me, like what I said earlier, it's still a character," he said.

"So I think there's nothing wrong with it."

The newest Star Magic artist said he is looking forward to doing other characters that is "something out of the box," but stressed that he is still open to doing LGBTQIA+ roles if these are offered to him.

According to Jimenez, his ultimate dream is to do more art films and be known as a versatile actor.

As for his personal goals, Jimenez wants to buy a house for his mom and put up a foundation for dogs.
