MANILA – Tom Taus paid his respects to veteran actress Jaclyn Jose at her wake held at the Arlington Memorial in Quezon City.

Hailed as one of the best actresses in the Philippines for her many memorable roles, Jose was also known for her iconic portrayal of Annie, mother to Taus's character Cedie in the 1996 film “Cedie: Ang Munting Prinsipe.”

Taus shared a heartfelt tribute to his former co-star, fondly remembering her calm demeanor and soothing voice.

He expressed his deep appreciation for the motherly love and guidance he received from Jose during their time together on and off-screen, reflecting on the genuine warmth and kindness he felt in her presence.

“She’s very calming. She has a very soothing voice, a motherly voice. I really find comfort in her. She played my mom and she’s very kind to me,” Taus recalled, noting he was only 10 or 11 years old at the time of filming "Cedie".

Taus emphasized the significance of Jose’s work and contributions to Philippine cinema, highlighting her enduring impact on the industry and the hearts of the Filipino people.

Taus believes that through her iconic roles and outstanding performances, Jose will leave behind a rich legacy that will continue to resonate with audiences.

“She definitely won’t be forgotten. She’s gonna be going down to history as one of the [most] legendary actresses that we’ve ever had. Thank you for your work as well that you gave to our people,” Taus added.
