MANILA — Kim Hewitt was adjudged the second champion of the &quot;Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids&quot; during its grand finale on &quot;It&#x27;s Showtime&quot; on Saturday.His rendition of Aerosmith&#x27;s &quot;I Don&#x27;t Wanna Miss A Thing&quot; received a score of 96.7% — besting Dylan Genicera&#x27;s performance of Sampaguita&#x27;s &quot;Tao&quot; and Aliyah Quijoy&#x27;s interpretation of Gary Valenciano&#x27;s &quot;Lupa&quot; which earned 96.6% and 96.5% scores, respectively.Despite being a &quot;resbaker&quot; or a wildcard contestant who just entered the &quot;Huling Tapatan&quot; yesterday, Hewitt&#x27;s emotional vocal prowess amazed the judges. He now succeeds John Clyd Talili, the first winner of TNT Kids&#x27; first edition in 2017 who also sang the same classic hit.The other finalists who did not make it to the last round were Kidapawan City&#x27;s Diane Duran, Batangas&#x27; Neithan Perez, Pangasinan&#x27;s Shawn Hendrix Agustin, La Union&#x27;s Thirdy Corpuz, and Muntinlupa City&#x27;s Clet Nicole Fiegalan.The champion received a talent management contract with ABS-CBN Music Management Group, a P300,000 home and learning showcase, and a P500,000 cash prize.The hosts also invited the viewers to await &quot;Tawag ng Tanghalan: The School Showdown&quot; officially starting on Monday. — Ched Rick Gatchalian, ABS-CBN News
