P-pop groups dominate Awit Awards 2024; SB19 leads with 12 nominations

MANILA -- The 2024 Awit Awards is shaping up to be a celebration of P-pop, with SB19 and BINI leading the charge. SB19 is at the forefront with a staggering 12 nominations, while Nation’s girl group BINI garnered seven nods.

SB19’s latest EP “Pagtatag!” earned a nomination for Album of the Year, while their hit single "GENTO" is in the running for six awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Performance by a Group. 

SB19 is also nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Ballad Recording, Best Pop Recording, Best Music Video, and Best Engineered Recording, underscoring their wide-ranging impact on the local music scene.

BINI, another standout in this year’s awards, has been recognized in multiple categories, including Record of the Year for their track "Pantropiko" and Song of the Year. The girl group is also up for Best Performance by a Group, Best Inspirational Recording, Best Pop Recording, Best Music Video, and Best Engineered Recording.
