MANILA - BGYO members Gelo, Nate, Mikki, Akira and JL together with their legal counsel Atty. Joji Alonso appeared before the media Friday to address the cases and complaints that they have filed versus online bullies that made malicious content against the members of the boy group.

BGYO also faced and met Rachelle Galang. Galang is one of the respondents of the complaint filed by Star Magic.

Galang read her statement infront of the group and the media and personally apologized for all the slanderous content she uploaded on the video-streaming platform Tiktok last April 23, 2024.

Her statement reads:

“Again po sa BGYO, Star Magic, and BGYO fans I'm really sorry for my wrongful actions and from the bottom of my heart, this will serve as a lesson for me. Maraming salamat po sa inyong pagintindi at pagpapatawad.”

“Lubos na gumagalang, Rachelle Galang”

BGYO accepted Galang’s apology, shook her hand as well as Galang’s mother who accompanied her to the gathering.

The group’s leader, Gelo Rivera, read their collective statement.

Nuong una po, kami ay nanahimik lang, hoping it will blow over.

We hope that Ms. Galang and other netizens would learn from this and stop spreading baseless and malicious allegations against other persons.”

“We hope that we can inspire other youths who are victims of cyberbullying and malicious disinformation to recognize their self-worth, realize that they have proper avenues to fight back, and to have the courage to stand up for themselves.”

According to Atty. Alonso, most of these slanderous statements online were “…essentially sinisiraang puri talaga sila various claims ‘manyak’, thats one word that’s been there... ‘Pedophile,’ ‘rapist,’ ‘womanizer,’ ‘cheaters’ and there’s even violence and these are all not true.”

"Lately ang dami na kasing kabataan actually not so young ones ang hihilig nila na kung ano ano sinasabi online not realizing that what they’re doing is already bordering on something criminal. This should serve as a reminder,” Alonso added.
