MANILA — "Un/Happy For You" director Petersen Vargas said he feels "greater than happy" for all the achievements of his latest blockbuster film starring Joshua Garcia and Julia Barreto.

The filmmaker was all smiles when asked how "happy" he is with the success of "Un/Happy For You".

"Oh my god, beyond happy. If there is a word na parang greater than happy, 'yun ako ngayon," he told ABS-CBN News.

The romance-drama film has now amassed a worldwide gross of P390 million and is now entering its 4th week.

Vargas also shared some realizations after working on the project.

Moreover, he mentioned that his direction of the film was influenced by many content, especially K-content.

"Big fan ako ng Korean content, like I'm a K-pop guy, and eventually I watched K-drama. Hinahabol namin 'yung ganoong flavor dahil the audience now appreciates that flavor — by also making it our own."

"Na-realize kong maraming hindi pa over sa ex nila," he joked. "I approached this film on a very personal level, lahat kaming nasa film. Kaya siguro nagre-resonate siya sa audiences because we really wanted to approach it that way."

"Un/Happy for You" is still showing nationwide and in international theaters like Australia, United States, UAE, KSA, and Canada, among others.
