<p>Filipino Olympian EJ Obiena conducted his first mentorship in pole vaulting. </p><p>&quot;Give a man a fish 🐟 , and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish 🎣 , and you feed him for a lifetime,&quot; EJ wrote on his Instagram page as he marked his first teaching experience.</p><p>He went on: &quot;This proverb emphasizes the importance of teaching skills and self-sufficiency rather than providing temporary aid.&quot;</p><p>The athlete pointed out that the proverb emphasizes the essential role of education in one&#x27;s independence and self-sufficiency.</p><p>&quot;It highlights the value of empowerment through education and guidance, allowing individuals to become INDEPENDENT and capable of SUSTAINING THEMSELVES. This is only the beginning. Mark my words, I am devoted to this. I really want to see the sport grow.&quot;</p>
