<p>Kapamilya singer-actress Vina Morales expressed her sorrow over the passing of theater director and producer Bobby Garcia earlier this week. I will truly miss you, Direk Bobby Garcia. You were one of the first to introduce me to the world of theatre, which I have come to love deeply,” she wrote.</p><p>She added how the late theater director helped her achieve her dreams of being able to perform on the prestigious Broadway stage.</p><p>“You gave me the opportunity to play Sherrie in<em> Rock of Ages </em>and also when you and Coach Lea (Salonga) made me audition for <em>Here Lies Love</em>, thank you both for fulfilling a lifelong dream of performing on Broadway New York with <em>Here Lies Love</em>. It was a dream come true,” she added.</p><p>Bobby was more than just a director for Vina–– she found a lifelong friend in him. </p><p>“I am so blessed to have known you, not just as my director but as a dear friend. You were such a brilliant artist and an even more incredible person. I love you, Direk ❤️. This was confirmed by ABS-CBN News through Boy Abunda and Bettina Aspillaga–– both good friends of the late director. </p><p>Bobby founded Atlantis Productions–– one of the top theater companies in Asia. He co-produced <em>Here Lies Love</em> and directed <em>Request sa Radyo </em>which had its run earlier this year. </p>
