Kaya as much as possible, para mas madami akong ma-reach na audience, from all walks of life, ang topic ko lang very basic — butong pakwan, eye drops, lamay.”Calleja revealed that producing his own Netflix special was a challenging but rewarding process.“Medyo mababa talaga &#x27;yung chances na ma-accept sila (Netflix), so nung gumawa ako, buti na lang tinanggap! Pinitch ko ’to,” he said.The show was filmed last year during his birthday, spanning a two-night performance on October 4 and 5. &#x27;Following industry advice, Calleja ensured consistency by wearing the same outfit on both nights. “Sabi kasi, at least dalawa gawin mo, dalawang magkaparehong set para maganda &#x27;yung material. And luckily, parehong maganda resulta ko noong October 4 and 5,” he explained.After editing the footage, Calleja submitted it to Netflix in November and anxiously awaited a response. &#x27;“Nag-email sila sa akin after one week. Ang sabi pa sa akin, ‘Can I call you at 1 p.m.?’ Sabi ko, bakit kailangan pang tawagan kung ano lang? &#x27;Pag tawag sa akin, ang opening nila, ‘Alex, hindi talaga kami open, but we like your special so we’ll give this a chance. February 7 is your (showing date).’”While &quot;Tamang Panahon&quot; is in Tagalog, Calleja assured that subtitles will be available, making it accessible to a wider audience. “Tagalog siya pero may subtitle. Pero very generic &#x27;yung topic, about relationships. Makaka-relate yung mga Pinoy sa ibang bansa. Papalabas ‘to sa Asia, New Zealand, Australia,” he said.With nearly two decades in the stand-up comedy scene, Calleja continues to expand his global presence.
