Ed Sheeran jokingly introduces 'boyfriend' online

<p>Award-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has once again sent the internet into a frenzy — not with a surprise album drop or a soulful ballad, but with a playful TikTok slideshow introducing his ‘boyfriend’.</p><p>On October 1, fans had an early taste of April Fools&#x27; Day as the singer posted a TikTok slideshow showing his sweetness and closeness with a man together with the caption &quot;️10 years in and still going strong.”</p><p>The internet was stirred, instantly catching the attention of his more than 18 million TikTok followers. The slideshow, containing 14 photos, showed a montage of sweet moments where Ed and the ‘boyfriend’ are laughing, walking through a garden while holding hands, posing with back hugs, cutting a 3-tier cake that seemed to be a wedding cake, and even sharing a silly face-to-face moment.  </p><p>Adding to the buzz is a short caption on the first photo saying “Fine, I’ll go on one more date.” The slideshow also features ‘Camera’, one of the love songs in his new album ‘Play’.  </p><div style="max-width:56vh"><div style="left:0;width:100%;height:0;position:relative;padding-bottom:177.7778%"><iframe src="//iframely.net/hdsiqFCk?theme=light" style="top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;position:absolute;border:0" allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no"></iframe></div></div><div><br/></div><p>Netizens quickly realized that the “boyfriend” was none other than Kevin Myers, popularly known as ‘Security Kev’, his bodyguard and best friend who has been by his side for a decade. The pair are often seen together during tours, red carpets, and even on vacation. While the video seemed romantic at first glance, it quickly became clear it was all in good fun.</p><p>Fans joined in on the fun, sharing memes and comments about the surprise reveal. Some even pointing out that some of Ed’s best songs were about a ‘man.”  </p><p>“Who else is just finding out about this besides me? 💀”, said a netizen.  </p><p>“I’m not a fan but, WHENNNN, WHAT DID I MISS” another netizen wrote.</p><p>Some even thought that the photos were created through AI, not expecting that the photos were actually legitimate.  </p><p>“I thought this was ai until i saw who posted 😭” exclaimed by a netizen.  </p><p>Aside from the singer-songwriter, Security Kev himself has been bringing laughs online for almost a decade now with his multiple series of hilarious photo posts with Ed that have fans smiling from ear to ear.
