Angeline Quinto reveals she was adopted for ₱10,000: ‘Yun lang ba yung halaga ko?’

<p>Kapamilya singer and actress Angeline Quinto shared the story of how she was adopted for ₱10,000. In an interview with veteran showbiz columnist and talent manager Ogie Diaz, the ASAP mainstay recalled how her biological mother, Nanay Susan, received cash in exchange for her adoption. </p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="681" height="383" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/R__zqg-qBjk" title="Angeline Quinto, dapat sana’y di naipanganak, ano’ng nangyari? | Ogie Diaz" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>Angeline had been with her adoptive mother, Mama Bob, ever since she was born until the latter’s death in 2020. </p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/2024/10/4/look-angeline-quinto-shares-new-family-photos-759"><strong>LOOK: Angeline Quinto shares new family photos</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>She admitted how hurt she felt when she heard about the story but maintained that she is still grateful for her adoptive mother as she wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for her. She revealed how Nanay Susan was supposed to have her aborted but it was Mama Bob that convinced her to push through with her pregnancy.</p><p>“Oo naman. Yun lang ba yung halaga ko? Pero kasi pag naririnig ko yung ganyan nangyari sa buhay ko, parang pinagsasalamat ko nalang din kasi kung hindi dahil kay Mama Bob, baka hindi ako buhay ngayon,” she shared.</p><p>“Nung time na buntis siya sa akin at dinadala niya ako, gusto niya mag Japan so hindi na tuloy dahil nga nabuo ako. So yun yung parang gusto niyang gawin parang magiging sagot para daw matuloy yung pag Jajapan. Eh nalaman ng Mama Bob, pinigilan niya,” she added.</p><p>Angeline expressed how lucky she felt that she had Mama Bob protecting her even if she hadn&#x27;t been born yet. </p><p>“Ako yung swerte dahil si Mama Bob yung naging nanay ko kasi hindi naman alam ng lahat na binalak ako ipaabort ng biological mother ko at si Mama Bob yung nagligtas sa akin,” she admitted.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/2024/8/14/angeline-quinto-gives-birth-to-second-child-1242"><strong>READ: Angeline Quinto gives birth to second child</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>The singer-actress then recalled the time when she first met her biological mother which was about 15 years ago. She shared how Nanay Susan was emotional about what happened in the past and maintained that the story about the ₱10,000 was true. </p><p>“Marami daw siyang dinadala na problema nung time na yun kaya niya nagawa yun. Hindi sila okay ng tatay ko kaya ako ibinigay kay Mama Bob,” Angeline shared.</p><p>“Umiyak siya habang sinasabi niya yun. Siyempre ako dahil masyadong emotional na talaga, naiyak na rin ako kasi siyempre ito yung lagi kong naririnig na pangalan–– siya pala yung tunay kong nanay. Parang bumalik ako sa pagkabata kahit hindi ko siya nakilala, ayun na yun eh,” she expressed.</p><p>When asked about the status of her relationship with her mother now, Angeline shared that they are doing okay. </p><p>“Okay naman kami. Yun lang, alam ko naman na naiintindihan na nila kung minsan hindi ako nagre-reply,” she assured. </p><p>Meanwhile, Angeline is set to star in the upcoming film, <em>Ang Happy Homes ni Diane Hilario</em>, where she plays the titular role. The film will be released in cinemas nationwide starting this December 3. </p>
