The line did not just wound a character – it crystallized an entire conflict about talent, insecurity, and the cost of fame. </p><p>In the film, Cherie Gil portrayed Lavinia Arguelles, a celebrated singing superstar admired by Dorina, who would later become her rival in the industry. Dorina begins as an aspiring singer whose natural voice eventually earns her a recording contract with ZONI Records, a company established by best friends Nico and Zosimo Blanco, played by Jay Ilagan.
