Lea Salonga’s child Nic Chien joins cast of ‘Into The Woods’ as Jack

<p>Nic Chien, the child of Olivier and Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga is making a grand comeback in the theater scene as he joins the cast of the musical <em>Into The Woods</em>. Nic will be joining his mother, Lea, who plays the role of the witch, which she had already played back in the 90’s.</p><p>Lea previously shared how excited she is to revisit the role she once did several decades ago.</p><p>“It’s very exciting, as well as exhausting. Sondheim is no joke! Learning the material before day one of rehearsals takes a few weeks because his patterns can be puzzling and challenging, but so rewarding once it all comes together. It’s also cool that I get to revisit a role that I played as a younger adult,” Lea said.</p><p><em>Into The Woods </em>boasts of a talented cast as Eugene Domingo (playing the role of Jack’s mother), Arielle Jacobs (portraying Cinderella), Joaquin Pedro Valdez (playing Cinderella’s Prince and Wolf), and couple Nyoy Volante and Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, among others, are all set to show their musicality in the much-awaited musical.</p><p><em></em>With only 18 performances, <em>Into The Woods</em> will have a limited engagement run from August 7 until August 24. Ticket details will be made available in the coming weeks by Theater Group Asia. </p>
