EXCLUSIVE: Diego Gutierrez shares special advice from family as he enters showbiz

<p>Coming from a family of stars, Diego Gutierrez is set to carve his own path in the entertainment industry as he officially signed with Star Magic.</p><p>During a media conference alongside fellow new artists, Diego shared that pursuing a music career has been his dream since childhood.</p><p>“Well, music talaga is my passion ever since. Bata pa lang ako, mahilig na akong kumanta. His parents are actors Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher “Monching” Gutierrez, his elder sister is <em>Lavender Fields</em> actress Janine Gutierrez, and his grandmother is seasoned singer Pilita Corrales.</p><p>Growing up in a family deeply rooted in showbiz, Diego recalled the advice his family gave him as he ventured into the same industry.</p><p>“Well, alam kasi nilang lahat na medyo mahiyain talaga ako. Especially when performing,” Diego added.</p><p>Before officially joining ABS-CBN’s talent arm, Diego had already released songs he wrote. As a new singer-songwriter, he admitted feeling some pressure about how his music would be received.</p><p>“Actually, naiisip ko din talaga kung ano ‘yung maiisip ng mga listeners ko and I try to write something that people can relate to,” Diego shared.</p><p>Diego emphasized his desire to create authentic and heartfelt music that resonates with listeners.</p><p>“Every time na nagsusulat ako ng kanta, I just try to be as authentic as possible and just try to write from the heart. Not just kami na mga apo, but also sa mga anak niya, sa mga kapatid niya. So very open ako,” Diego said.</p><p>He expressed interest in lighthearted and fun roles, saying, “‘Yung mga genre na gusto ko subukan ay ‘yung mga light and funny lang. ‘Yung mga romcom kasi kailangan ko pang magworkshop sa mga mabibigat na drama-drama.”</p><p>“I&#x27;m open to working with anyone and super excited ako for that journey also especially in Star Magic,” he added.</p>
