Kris Aquino dealing with lupus flare fever: ‘I want you to see the pain and struggle’

<p>Last March 16, Kris Aquino shared an update on her health while revealing that she and surgeon Dr. Michael Padlan had broken up. On April 1, she revealed another hurdle in her ongoing health battle after being afflicted this time with lupus flare fever. </p><p>In her Instagram post, she wrote in the caption, “This is MY NOW… i wanted you to see the pain and struggle so that you will continue to pray. i have a Lupus Flare fever now. It’s been more than 2 weeks.”</p><p>In the video clip she posted, Kris showed how symptoms of the condition showed up on her body. “Very visible in my spine because there’s no fat. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems, “with the most distinctive sign being  a facial rash that resembles the wings of a butterfly unfolding across both cheeks.” It also includes symptoms of fatigue, fever, joint pain, stiffness and swelling, skin lesions that appear or worsen with sun exposure, among others. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2025/2/26/makeup-artist-rb-chanco-says-kris-aquino-is-still-very-sick-frail-fragile-and-fighting-every-day-1852"><strong>READ: Makeup artist RB Chanco says Kris Aquino is &#x27;still very sick—frail, fragile, and fighting every day&#x27;</strong></a></div><p>After her post, Kris received an outpouring of messages of support and prayers from her followers as well as her friends in showbiz like Gary Valenciano, Iza Calzado, Rhap Salazar, and fashion designer Francis Libiran. </p><p>Kris has been battling multiple autoimmune diseases since 2018. She moved back to the country in September last year after flying to the US in 2022 to receive treatment.</p><p>She made her first public appearance last February 25 to attend the People Asia&#x27;s People of the Year 2025 event to show support for her friend and fashion designer Michael Leyva. Kris’s makeup artist RB Chanco, also posted about being working again with her longtime client, saying, &quot;Kris is still very sick—frail, fragile, and fighting every day.&quot;</p><p>She added, &quot;Despite everything, she made her first public appearance since becoming very ill. The real queen, the Kris we all love and miss, is still here—stronger than we know. And maybe, just maybe, this is the start of something more.&quot;</p>
