<p>Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria recently took to social media to share highlights from her solo day tour in Hiroshima, Japan, calling it a “super chill” experience.</p><div> </div><p>On Instagram, Jodi detailed her itinerary, starting with a scenic Shinkansen ride from Nagoya Station to Hiroshima, which took approximately two hours and 14 minutes.</p><div> </div><p>“The station had plenty of food choices, as in sobrang dami talaga, but I went for my go-to snack: tamago + cod roe onigiri and fish cakes with cheese, paired with coffee,” Jodi first shared, accompanied with a selfie from her train trip.</p><div> </div><div><br/></div><div><iframe class="instagram-media instagram-media-rendered" id="instagram-embed-17" src="https://www.instagram.com/p/DI_HSVgShe2/embed/captioned/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=630&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fod2-workbench-web.abs-cbn.com&amp;rp=%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A17%2C%22os%22%3A5869497.1%2C%22ls%22%3A190950.69999999995%2C%22le%22%3A190960.09999999998%7D" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="1653" data-instgrm-payload-id="instagram-media-payload-17" scrolling="no" style="background:white;max-width:540px;width:calc(100% - 2px);border-radius:3px;border:1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219);box-shadow:none;display:block;margin:0px 0px 12px;min-width:326px;padding:0px"></iframe></div><script async="" src="//www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script><div><br/></div><div><strong> </strong></div><p>Jodi then explored historic locations such as Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome-mae Station), The Dome, Bell of Peace, and Children’s Peace Memorial as her first stop.</p><div> </div><p>“Once in Hiroshima, I hopped on the streetcar (Line 6, ¥240), which drops you just steps from the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome-mae Station) The Dome, Bell of Peace, and Children’s Peace Memorial are all within the same area, so it’s easy to visit them together,” she shared.</p><div> </div><p>Hiroshima is a city in Japan which became a target for allied bombing during the second world war in 1945. As per Britannica, the atomic bomb destroyed most of the city in 1945, killing over 70,000 people instantly, with many more succumbing to radiation in the years that followed.</p><div> </div><p>According to the Japan Guide website, “the city became known worldwide for this unenviable distinction.”</p><div> </div><p>Among the highlights of Jodi’s tour was her visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.</p><div> </div><p>“The highlight of my day was finally visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, a truly moving experience that I’ve been looking forward to for so long. The museum fee was ¥200, and the audio guide was only ¥400,” Jodi shared.</p><div> </div><p>She described the experience as deeply emotional and reflective, with personal accounts and rare archival photos and footage from the bombing’s aftermath.</p><div> </div><p>“I did a self-guided tour. (Meron din silang tour guide volunteers inside the museum but hindi pasok sa time when I visited). Be prepared for one deeply emotional and reflective experience. Especially upon hearing survivor accounts, plus mga never before seen photos and footages,” she stated. </p><div><strong> </strong></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1745940531866dfgh.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div style="text-align:center"><strong></strong><em> @jodistamaria  / Instagram </em></div><p>After her museum visit, Jodi treated herself to Sakura ice cream from the museum shop which she joked that she finished before remembering to take a photo.</p><div> </div><p>Her adventure continued with a food stop at Hondori Shopping Street, where she enjoyed deep-fried oysters, gohan, and uni with buttered spinach. She also stopped by a cat café nearby.</p><div> </div><p>“Hiroshima is a great seafood destination 👍🏻 Shortly after, I visited a cat cafe nearby (about 600m from Hondori) and spent an hour with the adorable kitty catties!
