Here's why Dimples Romana got married at an early age

<p>Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana shared the reason she decided to tie the knot with her husband, Boyet Ahmee, at an early age. In a vlog by Filipino broadcaster Luchi Cruz-Valdes, the <em>Kadenang Ginto </em>star revealed that it was a decision she already had made early on</p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="681" height="383" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YEq-o8z4gBk" title="URL: Gusto Kong Magka-Pamilya Agad Dahil Baka Mamatay Ako Nang Maaga" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>Dimples married Boyet back in 2003 when the former was only 19 years old. After more than two decades of being married, the couple now share three kids–– Callie, Alonzo, and Elio.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/2023/6/14/dimples-romana-and-boyet-ahmee-celebrate-20th-anniversary-445"><strong>READ: Dimples Romana and Boyet Ahmee celebrate 20th anniversary</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>When her younger sister, Pebbles, passed away at a young age due to leukemia, the Kapamilya star admitted that it opened her eyes and her heart to the reality of death. Her decision to marry early became firmer when her father passed away years after her sister due to aneurysm. </p><p>Dimples explained how at her young age, life wasn’t guaranteed for everyone–– how death could be just around the corner.</p><p>“That opened my heart even more into thinking my gosh pwede pala yun,” she shared.</p><p>She then recalled praying about her decision to tie the knot at an early age. Kasi kung kukunin mo ako ng maaga, sana patikim mo naman sa akin na magkaroon ako ng pamilya. Yun lang talaga yung pangarap ko sa buhay–– magkaroon ng kumpletong pamilya,” she added.</p><p>Dimples then shared how Boyet wasn’t onboard with the decision at first but her fear of dying young felt so real for her. Apart from her husband, her mother and her in-laws were also apprehensive with the idea at first.</p><p>“I told Boyet, I want to have a family early and of course he did not approve of that–– ayaw niya talaga. Pero ako, mapilit talaga kasi ako and I wanted to have a family early because feeling ko talaga mamamatay akong maaga,” she said.</p><p>“I remember telling my mama that I’m gonna get married early and so siyempre galit na galit siya. Naiintindihan ko rin. Well, my in-laws were still very kind to me but hindi rin sila agree doon,” she continued.</p><p>Despite this, the couple still pushed through with their decision to start their own family. She then recalled how she was faced with the reality of her choices.</p><p>“I was subjected to a lot of judgment, a lot of doubts as a young mom,” she said.</p><p>With more than two decades of being together, Dimples maintained that she has no regrets with her decision and she will continue to choose Boyet everyday.</p><p>“Pinili ko yung asawa ko at 22 years rin naman ako pumipili ng pareho,” she ended.</p>
