Neri Naig reveals how Otap helped sort her thoughts while in jail

<p>Actress-turned-businesswoman Neri Naig Miranda shared with her followers how the Filipino delicacy, otap, kept her company while she was in prison. The charges have since then been dismissed by Pasay City RTC Branch 112.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2025/5/19/chito-miranda-recalls-not-leaving-neri-naig-when-she-was-detained-i-never-went-home-1902"><strong>READ: Chito Miranda recalls not leaving Neri Naig when she was detained: &#x27;I never went home&#x27;</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>The wais na misis recalled how she had Otap during her stay in prison and even kept the wrappers for her journal. </p><p>“Otap din ang kasama ko nung nakulong ako,” she revealed.</p><p>Neri added that she has kept the wrappers of the Filipino delicacy as she has been junk journaling ever since she was a child. Junk journaling is another form of journaling wherein an individual repurposes discarded materials to create a personalized journal.</p><p>“Yup. Totoo ‘yan. Tinabi ko pa &#x27;yung mga balot para maidikit sa journal ko. Bata pa lang ako, mahilig na akong mag-keep ng kahit anong memorable items: tickets, resibo, balot ng candy.. lahat idinidikit ko sa journal ko. Ngayon ko lang nalaman, ang tawag pala dun ay junk journaling,” she added.</p><p>Though she didn’t discuss more details about her experience in prison, Neri expressed how journaling has helped in her healing process. Kahit hindi ko masabi sa asawa ko o sa mga anak ko &#x27;yung bigat na nararamdaman ko, sa journal ko ko nalalabas,” she wrote.</p><p>“Pang-anxiety lalo! Pero totoo.. ewan ko ba, lately, parang ang kape... nakakapagpakalma,” she continued.</p><p>The former actress then gave a piece of advice to her followers and motivated them to keep moving forward despite the challenges they face. As someone who experienced challenges herself, Neri maintained that things will fall into place. </p><p>“Kung ikaw na nagbabasa nito ay isa rin sa mga lumalaban araw-araw.. gusto kong sabihin sa’yo: malalampasan din natin ‘to. Alam kong mahirap, lalo na kung wala kang karamay, o kung feeling mo walang nakakaintindi. Pero may kakampi ka.. ang sarili mo. At higit sa lahat, si God,” she ended.</p>
