EXCLUSIVE: James Reid shares a 'passion project' he's looking forward to as he is set to make his acting comeback

<p>Five years have passed since James Reid last appeared as an actor on television. While he maintained a steady presence in the music scene, the fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the field of acting.  </p><p> During the <em>Fête de la Musique Philippines Main Stage 2025 </em>last Saturday, June 21, the actor-musician, who was one of the event’s headliners, shared some great news with <strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong>. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750727561038james reid 1.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></strong><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750727574318james reid 2.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>“Well, they’ll [fans] be happy to know I’m coming back this year. We’ll be shooting this year, with plans to release it also this year,” he said.  </p><p> Details regarding his comeback project were not disclosed, but he expressed his excitement in the exclusive interview.  </p><p> “I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say that but definitely, we’re shooting this year,” he said. “We have a script, we have a story, and we have a cast. I’m very excited to announce it but not yet.” </p><p> “I can’t really say who I’m working with now, but I think the fans will be very surprised,” he added.  </p><p> James, who took a pause in acting since 2020, shared in his previous interviews that music was one of the reasons he decided to temporarily quit acting. </p><p> “I think I really had to switch to music at that time,” he said. “It really helped me with everything that I was going through personally. It gave me the time that I needed to focus on my first love which is music, and to write songs.” </p><p> The actor-musician, who has been busy elevating his music career, further shared how his passion helped him overcome what he was going through. </p><p> “Making songs is like therapy to me,” he said. “I learn so [many] things and I get to write about all the things I learned about life, love and relationships and put it in a song as a reminder. It really helped me a lot in life. Something around music that I can write a song; I can also sing. I think that would be very fun.
