From on-screen partners to friends — this was how the relationship of Only We Know stars Charo Santos and Dingdong Dantes has evolved after working on their upcoming movie.

Charo and Dingdong took a lie detector challenge for the Rec.Create Channel, alternately asking and answering questions that revolved around their movie and work relationship.

“A journey of discovery, becoming comfortable with each other, and becoming friends. We passed the getting-to-know-you stage, the awkward stage, mas comfortable na kami,” Charo admitted.

Dingdong also shared the same sentiment, saying their connection on- and off-screen grew deeper.

“Masaya ‘yung aming experience working with together. Maganda kasi 'yung usapan namin kumbaga mas lumalim ‘yung pagkakakilala namin sa isa’t isa,” he said.

The actor admitted that the warming up process that they went through was not easy, but it was beneficial to their chemistry.

“’Yung totoo, mahirap 'yung warming up pero after ‘nun sobrang smooth na,” he said. “Pero mas masaya ‘yung may konting warming up kasi kung wala 'yun parang ang corny din.”

Charo reaffirmed her on-screen partner’s statement, saying, “it really takes a while for him to warm up.”

“Tahimik siya, which can give the impression na he is intimidating,” she said. “Kasi you’ll wonder why hindi [siya] nagsasalita. Nag-me-method acting ba siya? But it takes a while for him to warm up.”

In an interview with Boy Abunda last May, Charo revealed how working on her character brought her some feelings of nostalgia.

"Nakaka-bagets kasi parang you imagine that you are going back to your high school years. There's you meet this dashing young man [na] nasa harap mo. ‘Wow (ang) gwapo naman nito,’ 'yung ganun. So, it brings you back to your youth,” she said.

She commended her on-screen in the same interview, noting that they were able to build a “natural connection.”

"Natural siya, totoo siya, walang persona, walang pagpapanggap, therefore I'm able to read into him right away," she said.

In the film, Charo plays Betty while Dingdong portrays Ryan.
