James Reid to start taping new teleserye this year

James Reid has revealed that he will soon be starring in a new teleserye, marking his return to acting.In an interview with Karen Davila, the actor shared that the project is already in the works.&quot;I have a teleserye that currently is in the works. I will be working with a female lead... a very talented actress. I can&#x27;t announce just yet. But in due time. We will be taping this year,&quot; he shared. &quot;I am actually excited for this project and to work with my co-star.&quot;As he steps back into acting, James emphasized that he is open to working with different leading ladies but clarified that it doesn&#x27;t have to form into a love team.&quot;I want to be able to work with other actors, especially other female leads. It was always my plan to go back to acting,&quot; he said at that time.He explained that he opted to do music over acting in recent years for self-discovery.&quot;I just wanted to make music first kasi at that time I felt like being in a love team, I felt like I was losing my identity. It&#x27;s just I think it&#x27;s something that everybody goes through at some point in their lives. You need a drastic change in your life, and I feel like switching from acting into music was that kind of change,&quot; he highlighted.James released in June a track in collaboration with TJ Monterde titled &quot;Pahinga.&quot;&quot;It began with a real-life experience,&quot; James shared on the inspiration of the song as per previous report by ABS-CBN News. &quot;I realized you need to quiet the mind so you can hear your heart. &#x27;Pahinga&#x27; is about patience and perseverance in relationships.&quot;Speaking with Billboard Philippines, James said that working with TJ had been on his mind for a while. &quot;TJ was top of mind when thinking of who to collaborate with and I’ve been hoping to work with him since last year. When we got in the studio I feel like our energy and artistry just aligned and TJ definitely delivered some awesome vocals,&quot; he relayed.
