“PBB Gen 11” member JM Ibarra got the ultimate shock when what he thought would be a formal gathering turned out to be a surprise birthday celebration planned by his fans, family, his closest supporters, and onscreen partner Sofia “Fyang” Smith. The actor arrived expecting a black-tie event, only to find the venue decked out in blue, his favorite color, and filled with familiar faces ready to celebrate his special day. “Sobra-sobra [akong na-surprise], kasi parang last two days… iba yung nakalagay sa schedule… na iba yung pupuntahan namin… ‘di ko alam bakit naiba… kasi yung pagkakaalam ko, black yung formal na susuotin ko today eh… tapos naging blue… ewan, nagdire-diretso na parang ‘Hala! Na-surprise ako,’” JM said with a laugh. “Pati sa mga bisita, ‘di ko in-expect na pati si Papa [ay] mapapapunta nila dito, pati si Mama… wala, sobrang thankful lang ako sa effort ng mga fans… kasi ‘di rin ako sigurado kung sa mismong araw ng birthday ko ay makakasama ko silang lahat. So, malaking bagay sa akin ito,” he added. When asked about his birthday wish, JM kept it selfless and sincere. “Gaya sa lahat ano… peace of mind para sa lahat, ‘yun ang pinakamahalaga sa panahon ngayon eh. Ang birthday wish ko ay ‘di para sa akin… para sa lahat. Para din ito sa mga taong sumusuporta sa akin,” he said. JM also shared about his genuine connection with his fans, and that he sees them as his friends.“Sobrang thankful, sobrang grateful ako to have them… kasi halos palagi nilang ipinaparamdam sa akin kung gaano sila nakasuporta [at] kung gaano nila ako kamahal na to the point na ‘di na basta fans ang tingin ko sa kanila, kun’di parang kaibigan ko na silang lahat… Mama ko na rin silang lahat… sobrang lang talaga ako na meron akong ‘sila’ kasi kung ‘di rin naman para sa kanila ay wala rin naman ako sa tinutungtungan ko ngayon… so lubos-lubos na pasasalamat talaga,” he said. Meanwhile, during the event, Fyang Smith also gave a special message to his onscreen partner. “Alam mo, thankful ako na ‘di tayo nagkakilala sa social media… nagkakilala tayo sa isang lugar na kung saan nandoon tayo pareho… at alam ko na… sa loob pa lang ng bahay, sinabi ko naman sa’yo na ‘malayo ang mararating mo’ kasi mabuti kang tao,” Smith said.<div> </div><div> </div>
