Zaijian Jaranilla credits grandmother for growing his earnings as a child star through investments

<p>Zaijian Jaranilla shared that his earnings from his first leading role in <em>May Bukas Pa</em> were wisely invested. The Kapamilya star led the hit series when he was just eight years old in 2009.</p><p>In an interview with Ogie Diaz for his YouTube vlog, Zaijian revealed that his grandmother Dulce Jaranilla, who helped raise him, played a key role in growing his money through investments.</p><p>&quot;Nung time na &#x27;yun po kasi hindi pa ako aware eh na kumikita na pala ako ng mga ganung kalaking halagang pera. So sobrang laki ng role ng lola ko sa buhay ko kasi siya &#x27;yung kahit papaano nag-invest sa mga ganito, ganyan,&quot; he shared.</p><p>Some of the investments that his grandmother made were in real estate properties.</p><p>&quot;Tapos &#x27;yun pinakalat-kalat niya, investment dito, investment diyan, so nung siguro mga 15, 16 [years old] pa lang ako nagkaroon ng awareness sa mga ganung bagay, [na] okay gusto ko itong i-handle ah, parang ganun. Okay hawakan ko na &#x27;yung pera ko. Pero hindi naman &#x27;yung freedom talaga [na] o sige sa&#x27;yo na &#x27;yan... May control pa rin kahit papaano,&quot; he said.</p><p>Zaijian also credited his upbringing for teaching him how to be financially wise.</p><p>&quot;The way kasi ako pinalaki rin mga magulang ko hindi ako maluho. Kumabaga kung ano &#x27;yung lifestyle noon namin, ganun pa rin hanggang ngayon. Hindi masyadong magastos, kung ano lang &#x27;yung mga kailangan mo, hindi &#x27;yung mga gusto mo. Parang dun mo rin titimbangin. Ah hindi, gusto ko lang &#x27;to, hindi ko to kailangan, hindi ko siya bibilhin.
