<p>Vice Ganda, one of the country’s most prominent celebrities, boldly called on Filipinos to stand firm, emphasizing that the era of fearing the government is over — instead, it’s the government that should now fear the people.</p><p>“Tapos na ang panahon na natatakot tayo sa gobyerno. Takutin natin ang gobyerno dahil ang kapangyarihan nasa sa atin, wala sa kanila. Nakatingin kami sa inyo, ipakulong lahat, lahat ipakulong. Bawiin ang mga ari-arian. Pati atay, i-donate. Ibigay ang atay. Pati mata, i-donate. Hindi uubra sa kanila ang mabuting asal at mabait lang, kasi nga mga demonyo sila. Kaya tama ‘yan — sumigaw lahat ng galit, lahat ng galit na galit! Hindi matatapos ang galit bukas! Iparinig ang galit hanggang hindi makulong ang mga put**g in*ng magnanakaw. Hindi tayong pwede magalit lang ngayon. Kailangan hanggang bukas. Kailangan sa susunod na linggo. Hangga’t hindi sila nauubos,</em>” she bravely stated.</p><p>Vice also pointed out that Filipinos have nothing left to lose because so much has already been taken from them, as she called for harsher punishment against corrupt officials.</p><p>“<em>Walang mawawala sa atin kasi ubos na tayo. Kaya ang gagawin natin ngayon ay babawi na tayo. Ikulong ang mga magnanakaw. Para sa akin, hindi nga sapat ang kulong. Mabuhay kayo, mga kapwa namin Pilipinong nanakawan ng gobyerno. Mabuhay kayo. ‘Yan ang pagbati natin sa isa&#x27;t isa,</em>” Vice said.</p><p>The speech at the EDSA protest was part of the Trillion Peso March, a series of mass demonstrations held simultaneously on the anniversary of Martial Law. It served as a condemnation of alleged corruption in flood control and infrastructure projects involving the Department of Public Works and Highways and certain politicians.</p>
