<p>MANILA -- Elijah Canlas has reacted to the corruption issue involving alleged irregularities in government flood control projects.</p><p>Speaking with entertainment reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 21st Cinemalaya press conference, the actor expressed his frustration and anger over the controversy.</p><p>&quot;Sobrang busy lang ako ngayon kaya hindi ako masyado outspoken o nakakapagsalita even online. Pero deep down, updated ako. Deep down, marami akong nararamdamang galit, panghihinayang, empathy, sympathy sa mga kababayan natin, sa mga kapwa nating Filipino,&quot; he said. </p><p>&quot;Dahil harap-harapan tayong niloloko. Harap-harapan tayong ginagago, harap-harapan tayong pinagsisinungalingan ng mga taong namumuno sa atin, ng mga kumukurakot sa atin. At parang wala silang hiya lahat,&quot; he added. </p><p>Canlas then echoed Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto&#x27;s remarks about <a href="https://www.facebook.com/abscbnNEWS/posts/kailangang-maging-nakakadiri-ang-korupsyon-para-kay-pasig-city-mayor-vico-sotto-/1263198405855413/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">corruption in the government</a>.</p><p>&quot;Tama &#x27;yong sinabi ni Mayor Vico, actually na nasa atin ito. Dapat gawin talaga nating kahiya-hiya ang maging corrupt. Dapat hindi siya kinaiinggitan, &#x27;yung mga mayayaman... Dapat pandirihan talaga natin sila.
