<p>Hidilyn Diaz is adding another feather to her cap as she commences her journey as a teacher at the University of the Philippines Diliman.</p><p>According to a report published on upd.edu.ph, Hidilyn recently completed the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC) held from January 12 to 15 at the UP Diliman School of Economics. The program served as preparation for her upcoming teaching assignment at the UP College of Human Kinetics.</p><p>The Olympic gold medalist shared that the course helped her gain valuable insights on how to approach and manage her classes.</p><p>&quot;Good thing na naka-attend ako nitong TEC. Nagkaroon ako ng idea kung paano iyong magiging approach ko sa pag-handle ng class. It’s a new path, a level-up opportunity to become a lecturer at UP CHK!&quot; she said in an Instagram post in October last year.</p><p>Stepping into academia, the Olympic champion said teaching allows her to pass on her knowledge and experience in weightlifting.</p><p>&quot;When they asked, &#x27;Why teach?&#x27; I said, &#x27;Because I want to keep learning, and I hope my students will learn from me too.&#x27; Designing a curriculum to promote and spread weightlifting has always been a dream,&quot; she wrote.</p><p>She added: &quot;I&#x27;m excited and nervous, but ready to give my best. I love weightlifting, and I’ll keep doing my best to grow and share the sport I love.  Can’t wait to meet my future students and co-faculty members.&quot;</p><p>Prior to her teaching role, Hidilyn has already been actively mentoring young Filipino weightlifters through the HD Weightlifting Academy in Rizal. </p>
