<p>Noel Ferrer, the manager of 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, released another statement regarding the lifetime fuel supply given to her back in 2021. The lifetime fuel incentive was their announcement, their commitment –– not hearsay. In the artcard/press release, there were no conditions whatsoever; it was presented purely as an incentive,” Noel wrote.</p><p>Hidilyn’s lifetime fuel supply drew attention once again due to the prices of fuel soaring higher globally. Netizens have brought up the incentive on social media and expressed how lucky the Olympian is for not spending money for fuel.</p><p>Noel maintained that his talent only received two years of fuel supply and not what was promised by the petroleum company. </p><p>“Netizens resurfaced it recently. Hidilyn told me that she received fuel support for the first two years after her win. Thanks, but to be accurate, it wasn’t for a lifetime. Sadly, this is also symptomatic of how we regard athletes who are no longer in the limelight –– even when they continue to contribute to sports and to the country,” he maintained. </p><p>“May these tough times bring out the best in us –– and the honesty to match public pronouncements,” he ended. </p><p>The petroleum company that gave the incentive has yet to respond as of this writing. </p>
